Richard A. Parent, DMD, PA
Dr. Parent is a Gainesville dentist who has practiced locally since graduating from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1995. He is a graduate of the Kois Center for Dental Excellence in Seattle, Washington. This involved completion of numerous core courses and symposia. Dr. Parent has also studied at the Pankey Institute, Dawson Institute, and the Spear Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. He has previously been an examiner for the Florida Board of Dentistry (Department of Health), staff member at North Florida Regional Hospital, and Visiting Clinical Instructor with the University of Florida College of Dentistry. While working towards his D.M.D. degree, Dr. Parent served as Class President for two years and Psi Omega Dental Fraternity President.
His volunteer work has included Project We Care, ACORN Dental Clinic, Gainesville Community Ministries Dental Clinic, CPR Instruction, and being a Trustee at Peaceful Paths. Dr. Parent has also been instrumental in encouraging local dentists to adopt elementary schools to provide a school-based sealant program. When not in the office, Rick enjoys golf, cooking, travel with his wife Stephanie, and time with his adult children Grace and Ricky.
